Security check for regulated item by ePacket

As the name “ePacket” suggests, the shipping service was formed for eCommerce purposes, in order to make it faster and more affordable for customers to receive their purchases from online stores and marketplaces that shipped from China.  It is fast, cheap and door-to-door China ePacket tracking.  However, according to policy updated from China, some items are not allowed to ship to Hong Kong now.

In recent months, Hong Kong has repeatedly protested against the revision of the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance.  According to Oriental Daily post on 3 Sept, the mainland authorities therefore imposed controls on the common equipment used for demonstrations and prohibited express delivery companies from transporting related items to Hong Kong.  Product on Alibaba cannot be shipped to Hong Kong if it is sensitive items like helmets, umbrellas and masks (including mask for scuba diver).

How do you know if the product is regulated

Although you may be able to search and pay for such items in Alibaba, items will be rejected.  If you are purchased online which will be ship out from China and you are not knowing it is regulated, don’t worry, you will know soon several days after purchase.  As the seller will process your order once they got the payment,  they will send the item to the express delivery company e.g ePacket.

According to official media comments, according to relevant laws and regulations, express delivery enterprises should strictly implement the inspection and acceptance inspection system, and may not transport or deliver articles with major safety hazards.

So, the express delivery company will return the post if the package do not pass their security check.  After that, the seller will let customer know and ask to cancel the order and process refund procedure.  However, this security check and reject process is fast and done within several days after the items shipped on ePacket.
